Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)

The treatment for HIV is called antiretroviral therapy (ART) which involves taking a combination of HIV medication every day. More than 28 million people use ART globally and works for adults & children, for women & men, including transgender people.

HIV treatment is effective and easy to take. Being on effective HIV treatment means you can expect to enjoy a long and healthy life - ART does not cure HIV.
